................................$As I wrapped up my meal at Akihito Sushi on Herenstraat in Rijswijk, the menu still danced on my palate and in my head, starting with the classic sushi selections that were fresh and artfully presented, from delicate salmon rolls to tempura‑crispy delights. Beyond the basics, I was pleasantly surprised by the Black Tiger Roll - rich, bold, and perfectly balanced - and the handrolls, especially the salmon handroll that managed to taste both light and indulgent at the same time. Although the restaurant champions Japanese favourites like the Dragon Roll and poke bowls with tempura shrimps, they also bridge into heartier territory with a juicy rib eye option that stood out among the mostly seafood‑centric offerings - tender and seasoned just right. Between bites, sipping an ice‑cold Fanta added a fun, familiar contrast to the umami and spice, while the unexpected kreeft preparation (lobster) felt like a chef’s bold nod to luxury against the backdrop of laid‑back sushi vibes. What ties the whole menu together is its versatility; whether you’re craving something light like sushi or more substantial like rib eye or poke bowls, the experience feels coherent, engaging, and delightfully varied. And even if some items surprised me, every dish made sense in the context of a place that invites you to explore flavour without pretension - an informal yet memorable conclusion to a truly tasty menu.
